1. Setup Account and Users
To get your account setup, navigate to the Settings page and then follow the following steps.
1. Profile: Navigate to Profile and then fill in you profile details.
2. Company Info: Navigate to Company Info and then fill in the Company Name, Address, and Logo.
3. Company Setup: Company can be the most difficult part of the setup. This data is used throughout the app so it is important to setup correctly. Before getting started, review the following definitions.
- Definitions:
- Factory: A Factory is a location. This may commonly be referred to as a Factory, Plant, Site, or Shop. Usually a Factory is a distinct location.
- Line: A line is an area within a Factory. This may commonly be referred to as a Line, Area, Cell, or Department. This is a distinct area within a Factory.
- Workstation: A Workstation is a distinct asset within a Line. This may commonly be referred to as a Workstation, Equipment, Machine, Asset, or Process. This is usually a distinct asset within a Line.
- To start the setup, navigate to Company Setup and follow the following instructions:
- Add Factory(s):
- Click "Create".
- Type in Name of Factory and click Save.
- Add as many Factories as needed.
- Add Lines:
- You will need to add Lines for each Factory.
- To start, click on a Factory that you have setup.
- Then click "Create"
- Name the Line and click Save.
- Repeat until you have every line setup.
- Do this for each Factory.
- Add Workstations:
- To start, go into a Factory and click on a Line.
- In the Line page, click "ADD WORKSTATION" at the bottom of the screen.
- Enter the name of a Workstation in that Line and click save.
- Repeat until you have every WorkStation for every Line created.
- Do this for each Line in every Factory
4. Users: Navigate to Users and click "New User". Add each team member individually. If you need additional licenses, navigate to Subscriptions or read how to setup below.
5. Permissions: Navigate to Permissions. An Admin can assign users different access and permissions for each module. You will need to determine the roles and responsibilities for each member to properly setup their Permissions.
6. QMS Setup: For a Quick Start, you do not need to change much of the QMS Setup options. You will want to be familiar with the options and update your supplier settings. Do the following:
- Causes: You do not need to change for a Quick Start. Review and change in the future if the standard options are not sufficient.
- Gage types: You do not need to change for a Quick Start. Review and change in the future if the standard options are not sufficient.
- Units of Measure: You do not need to change for a Quick Start. Review and change in the future if the standard options are not sufficient.
- Supplier Settings: Navigate to Supplier Settings and enter the details of your suppliers. This data is used through the app and also populates in the Supplier Quality module. To add a Supplier, click "Create", enter the supplier details, and click save. Repeat for each supplier.
7. Subscription: Navigate to Subscription. To setup your Subscription, follow the following steps:
- Select your Subscription type. Review the subscription options to identify which level is right for you.
- Determine how many seats you need.
- Click subscribe.
2. Setup Modules
Depending on how you plan to use FactoryQA, each module may require additional Setup. Before getting started, determine which features you need. Then reference the Quick Start module guides below for the relevant modules. See the "Module Setup Guides" for in depth setup details.

3. Training and Implementation
After you have your Account and Module setups complete, you can begin rolling out with your team. You can develop your own training and implementation plans or work with FactoryQA to get support. You will need to consider the following:
- Which modules will you be using?
- How will you be using each module in your processes?
- Who will be involved with each process?
- What do they need to do in FactoryQA?
- What do they need to change in their daily processes to incorporate FactoryQA?
These questions will help determine who needs to be trained and what they need to know.
